Union Garage V7 Leather Jacket: $950
According to Union Garage founder and product designer Chris Lesser, two minutes is all it takes to remove the D3O shoulder armor and back protector from the new Union Garage V7, converting a badass leather riding jacket to a more pedestrian night-on-the-town garment.
Made by Vanson to Lesser’s specs, the 13-pound jacket harkens back to the Buco leather garments produced in ’40s Detroit by Joseph Buegeleisen but with modern technology, workmanship, and fit.
MotoTote MTX Sport Motorcycle Carrier: $600
Don’t have room for a motorcycle trailer? Can’t afford a truck? A solution for hauling your bike to the trail might be made in Texas in the form of a MotoTote carrier, which resembles those used by bicyclists to haul their machines. Haul bikes up to 550 pounds; a Class III or better 2-inch trailer hitch is all you need to get started. Loading ramp included.
Stylmartin Matrix Boots: $375
Who doesn’t want breathable, waterproof black motorcycle boots with an old-school motocross aesthetic? The European-made Stylmartin Matrix boots blend touring comfort with MX durability and protection, good for all types of bikes.
Analog Motor Goods Ankor Device Mount: $99
Both my Moto Guzzi speedometers aren’t working (surprise!), and to avoid a friendly highway visit from Johnny Law I’ve installed the American-made Analog Motor Ankor device mount, allowing me to use my Samsung S6 Active phone to monitor my speed and track my rides on Rever. Featuring the iOcore magnetic cylinder that provides connection between the iOadapt disc and my phone’s case.
PMR Suzuki DR650 Enduro Series Rear Luggage Rack: $94
My off-road riding is more scrambler than motocross, and the customized 2004 Suzuki DR650SE in my garage has a small aftermarket tank that’s too cool to swap. I’ve added an American-made PMR Enduro Series rear luggage rack to bring a RotopaX spare gas container for longer adventures, and with the removable sissy bar it can double as a space to hold my travel duffel.
